Workshops
The group also organises special workshops. These are run by guest musicians and the aim is to study specific aspects of traditional Galician music. All while having fun and playing together! Some of our past guests include:

Habelas Hainas: an all female folk group formed by Arantza Alfaia, Jara Ortiz, Patricia Gamallo and Sandra Tamayo. They taught us special tambourine patterns, as well as to play the “pandeiro” (Galician hand drum). They also ran a workshop focused on the role of the accordion in traditional music.

Martina Mella: a young “cantareira” (singer) but she has a lot to say. With Martina we studied some voice techniques and she walked us through the idiosyncrasy of traditional society as reflected in the lyrics of the time.

Sara Abalde: a former member of many folk groups including O Fiadeiro, As Lagharteiras (founding member), Grialia (founding member), Moxenas Musical Galego and Abóbriga. We had an intensive workshop focused on advanced tambourine patterns and singing techniques.
The group will be organising more workshops in the upcoming months.
